ABOUT US

One of the main objectives of the Central Environmental Authority (CEA) is the provision of information and education to the public regarding the protection and improvement of the environment. To fulfil the above objective CEA established a library in 1984 and was renamed as the National Environmental Information Centre in 1993 which has initiated a number of information services, developing and strengthening the library.

The International Federation of Library Associations (IFLA) awarded the runner-up for the "Green Library Award" in 2020 to the NEIC.

ENSULIB (Environment, Sustainability, and Libraries) is an IFLA special interest group. The participants were invited for the IFLA Green Library Award for the fifth time in a row, and more than 50 countries around the world participated in this competition.
